://FURIEN can be described as a hellcat in english. According to definition, the Furie is a raging, fearsome, and terror-spreading avenging goddess. In everyday use, “Furie” appears as a demeaning term for a raging and angry woman. When Flinta* are described as Furien, this often reflects an attribution of emotional excess or lack of self-control. Why doesn’t this insult apply to cis-men as well? Strong anger is judged differently in cis men and confused with determination and assertiveness. The attribution “Furie” thus serves as a demeaning frame that devalues our self-assertion, while cis-men are not associated with demonic femininity but with power. We’ve had enough of that and are reclaiming the term. Anger is not only an essential human emotion but also a legitimate part of protest and change, and we will not surrender it. To all the Furien and hellcats out there: Come together! Be loud and angry! Stand in solidarity and go on the streets on March 8 for an autonomous and safe living world for all Flinta*. For the evening, we have prepared a versatile program: Lisa Jarzynski presents an opening "How to: Angry Letter to the male gaze" and engages with the problem of the heterosexual and cis-male gaze on the world, which accompanies us in daily life both consciously and unconsciously and shows you how you can create an Angry Letter by yourself. Then we invite you to participate in a Flinta*-Shout workshop, to then dance angrily and energetically together in the tent at KAOS and Yung FSK18. From 10 PM you can then move to sexy house tunes in the lobby, followed by faster basslines, techno, and trance on the MDF from 11 PM. Join us on the 6th of March! Leave a donation at the cash desk!
