Dasha Rush is a Russian-born, French national, based in Berlin, who is an artist that spends her time traveling around the globe while working on a wide variety of electronic music and art projects. She has released music on labels such as Sonic Groove and Raster Noton, and has also collaborated with others. Additionally, some of her work has been released on her own labels, Fullpanda Records (2005) and the experimental sub-label Hunger to Create (2004) She began her musical career at a young age in Moscow, where she was one of the first female DJs/producers in Eastern Europe. After moving to France in 1996, she gained international recognition in the early 2000s and developed as an electronic music composer, producer, and DJ, experimenting with various forms of art by collaborating with dancers and painters. Rush views genres as starting points rather than destinations and explores rare electronic experimentation that draws from the roots of underground music from the early 20th century. Her album on Raster-Noton (2015), could be a metaphor for her musical work: "These 16 pieces are transmissions from that state between sleep and wakefulness," said Tony Naylor, a reflection of the in- between zones her music often inhabits. Dubby but intense, brutal but tender, foggy yet clear—Sleepstep was a wonderful mass of contradictions. Not being one thing or the other is vitally important to Rush, which goes hand-in-hand with her strong independent streak. She pushes the boundaries of contemporary music to the limit and encourages experimentation with various musical and non-musical forms, creating thoughtful compositions in multidisciplinary projects. Her audiovisual work, inspired by scientific subjects, includes projects like "Antarctic Takt" (2014), "Aurora Cerebralis" (2019), and "Dark Hearts of Space" (2015). In her multidisciplinary show "Les Territoires Ephemeres" (2018), she combines different artistic disciplines such as Japanese butoh, theatre, poetry, and digital music and visuals. In conclusion, Dasha Rush is a live performer, electronic music composer, sound artist, and techno DJ whose work extends beyond the dance floor and sometimes beyond music itself. In her strange and twisted world, the machines are the protagonists of a neo-romanticism, weaved with human dreams. Venue: INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club Address: Avda.
