iContact: The Tactile Tech Opera iContact the tactile tech opera is an interactive ceremonial performance piece exploring human relationships with our bodies, technologies and ecologies. The piece is one of both minimalism and eccentricity, with a hybrid digital/live simple and intergalactic soundscape. The dystopian future arrives and our pet robots, aka phones, have grown larger than (real) Life. iPhone A Million And Eleven dangles heavy from the arm, and people have not looked at each other for well over a decade. Until some"thing" unexpected arrives on the planet to dissolve the numbness epidemic and re awaken human Beings to (their) Nature. This is an immersive performance, where movement and sound come together for a uniquely transformative experience. The role as audience member is quickly shifted to performer throughout as the 7 performers hold space for audience members to co-create collective choreography & a collaborative choir throughout the 7 acts. Audience members are asked to wear all black, and expect to leave their shoes to the side of the space. There is also a Pet Robot Lounge for participants to put their phones at the start of the show. We look forward to being in this expansive space with you.
