Babe Roots is an Italian production duo consisting of Andrea Perini and Alessandro Verrina, renowned for blending the hypnotic textures of Berlin dub techno with the deep, soulful rhythms of Jamaican roots and sound system culture. Their discography features releases on labels such as ZamZam Sounds, System Music, and Echocord. Known for immersive, bass-driven performances, the duo delivers entrancing sets that move seamlessly between meditative listening and raw physical power. About Echo Chamber: Echo Chamber returns in 2026 as a reboot of Dub-Stuy’s long-running series, first launched in 2012, now reimagined as an ongoing residency at Public Records. Hosted on select Thursdays in Public Records’ sound room, the series centers sound, system, and the dancefloor as spaces for open listening and exploration. Rooted in sound system culture, Echo Chamber traces a wide musical arc from Jamaica to the UK and New York. Programming moves fluidly from foundation reggae and dub into dub techno, dubstep, drum and bass, and global bass, connecting lineage with future-facing sounds. Powered by Public Records’ bass-forward quadriphonic system, each session features Dub-Stuy resident DJs alongside special guests from the global sound system community. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
