Emerging from the shadows between sound and cinema, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (TKDE) turn live performance into a hypnotic, otherworldly experience. Founded in 2000 by Jason Köhnen and Gideon Kiers, the group began reimagining soundtracks for silent film classics such as Metropolis and Nosferatu. Their collective improvisation fuses ambient, doom, jazz, post-rock, and experimental electronica into music that feels cinematic, spectral, and alive. On stage, TKDE combine abstract film projections with immersive soundscapes, crafting shows that are as visually mesmerising as they are sonically bold.
