BLACK TECHNO MATTERS @ LOSO w/ Amal, Evilogik, Nile Ashton, b_x_r_n_x_r_d, Starship Truth Saturday, April 18 DJ Sets: 9p - 2a 2727 W. Broad St 21+ Amal is a DC based artist, producer, and DJ, founder of Hochi Runs and one third of Black Rave Culture. His work moves fluidly across club music, blending high energy rhythms with an intuitive, performance driven approach. As both a solo artist and curator, he plays a central role in shaping the label’s identity and creative direction. __________ Nile Ashton is a Durham, NC–based DJ, producer, and organizer building dance floors as immersive environments for collective release. Shaped by formative years in the New Orleans underground, his rhythm-forward approach layers acid-tinged percussion grooves, driving low-end, and atmospheric tension into sets curated to guide both the devoted dancer and the active listener. His mixing unfolds as a deliberate narrative, building pressure toward carefully constructed crescendos. From sharing lineups with pioneers like Egyptian Lover to contemporary figures such as Jensen Interceptor, his influences trace back to dance music’s foundational pulse while his practice remains focused on pushing its edges forward. __________ EviLogik is the DJ and producer duo of BENLOGIK and EvilTwin — two groove-driven selectors on a mission to electrify dancefloors and warp minds. Fusing old-school grit with modern intensity, they blend high-BPM Hardgroove, heavy breaks, and everything in between. With BENLOGIK driving raw energy and EvilTwin channeling hypnotic rhythms, their sets are built for full-body release and dancefloor euphoria. No heavy record goes unnoticed — EviLogik is here to move you. __________ Bernard Farley, also known as Outputmessage, is a self-taught multi-disciplinary artist and founder of Black Techno Matters. Starting in 2003 with the release of “Bernard’s Song” on Ghostly International while still in college studying number theory and algebraic topology, his artistic career spans nearly twenty years covering a wide array of genres from ambient electronica to electronic pop music to hard-hitting techno and experimental music. Originally born in Queens, NY, Bernard finally settled in Washington, DC in 2006 where he applies his relentless creativity to his passion for community building, particularly in the electronic music scene. Through singing, dancing, photography, video, and lighting, he creates familiar, yet subversive, multi-faceted experiences that explore themes of queer and Black identity. ——— LOSO Safe Space Policy ——— LOSO is a place for music lovers and dancers to come and express themselves freely.
